About
Research is one of the best tools we have to improve health. But it is hard to see the whole picture: what has been done, by whom, and what is still missing. We help make that picture clear.
Who is behind it
I started my career in clinical microbiology labs in Yaoundé, Marseille and Paris. I studied the bacteria that live in the human respiratory tract and gut, and helped describe new bacterial species. The lab taught me how evidence is built: one careful step at a time.
Over the years, a bigger question grew in my mind. What does all this research add up to? Who does it, who pays for it, and who is left out? I followed that question into the science of science, at York University and Simon Fraser University, working on research mapping, patent analysis and research evaluation.
CognosX is how I continue that work. The idea is simple: help people read the scientific record clearly, so that money and effort go where they matter most. I care especially about health problems that affect Africa and other places that research too often overlooks.
I work in English and French, from Burnaby, Canada.
What guides the work
AI helps us work at scale, but people check the results. We say how accurate the method is, not only what it found.
Numbers alone can mislead. We use indicators responsibly and explain what they can and cannot show.
We look at who is missing from the picture, not only who leads it, and we listen to people where the research happens.
