Research in Africa
Who produces, leads and funds health research in Africa, and how to make that research fairer and more visible.

The question
Africa carries a large share of the world’s health problems, but a small share of its research. When research on African problems is done, it is not always led by African researchers. This programme brings together studies that ask who produces research in Africa, who leads it, who funds it, and what is still missing.
